MUNICH (Germany) – Teams participating in the FIBA European Youth Championships 2023 are set to find out their summer opponents via the draws taking place on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 in Freising, Germany.
A total of 246 teams representing 48 National Federations have registered for the 16 youth tournaments, which will be traditionally played in three age categories – U20, U18 and U16 – and three divisions.
There will be 129 teams taking part in the men’s youth competitions, while 117 women’s youth national teams have been entered for the summer’s events.
The draw ceremony will begin at 11:00 CET on Tuesday, and will be streamed live on the FIBA YouTube channel.

The seedings for the youth events draw are based on the average results in the same category from the last three years of the event played, as introduced in 2022.
The summer youth events will commence on June 30 with the FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship, Division B in Sofia, Bulgaria with the tournaments in other age groups and categories continuing all the way until August 19.
Before Tuesday’s draw, the venues and the location of the FIBA U20 Women’s European Championship in Lithuania were also finalized with the event confirmed to take place in the cities of Klaipeda and Vilnius.
