‘Who did it best?’: UEFA post tweet comparing West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta and ex-Hammer Dimitri Payet.
Hammers boss David Moyes brought the 25-year-old Brazilian to the London Stadium from Lyon in the summer for around £51 million (The Times).
Meanwhile, Payet joined West Ham in the summer of 2015, before moving back to Marseille in January 2017 for around £25 million.
The French star was an absolute magician and he lit up Upton Park and the London Stadium on numerous occasions.
David Moyes recently claimed that every West Ham fan he speaks to mentions Payet.
The now 35-year-old was an instant hit at West Ham. During 59 games for the Hammers, Payet racked up 15 goals and 22 assists (Transfermarkt).
Meanwhile, Paqueta’s impact hasn’t been as emphatic as Payet’s was…
The UEFA Europa Conference League Twitter admin posted a tweet this afternoon showing both the West Ham and Marseille players in action.

Both pieces of skill were truly magnificent.
And it just highlights the quality that Paqueta and Payet possess.
The Brazilian is very similar to the Frenchman in playing style
However, in my opinion, Paqueta isn’t fit to lace Payet’s boots. The Frenchman was a truly magnificent player – world-class in my book.
The Brazilian’s career is only just kicking off though, and if he continues to work hard maybe he will one day reach Payet’s levels from 2015-2018.
