Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs linked with Youssoufa Moukoko, but it seems that Graham Potter’s Chelsea could win the race for the Borussia Dortmund and Germany international striker.
The Athletic have reported this morning that Chelsea are exploring the possibility of bringing Moukoko from Dortmund to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.
Moukoko, who played for Germany at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, is out of contract at Dortmund at the end of the season, and while Chelsea’s main objective is to secure his services on a free transfer next summer, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners could try to get him in the January transfer window.
That’s because of the injury suffered by striker Armando Broja in a friendly match against Aston Villa.
The Athletic have claimed that ‘a move to Chelsea is certainly not done but other Premier League clubs are under the impression it is advanced’.
Who are those other clubs?
Well, The Athletic have not mentioned them, but we know from previous credible reports that Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur all are keen on the 18-year-old.
90min reported in November 2022 that Liverpool, United and Tottenham all want to sign Moukoko.
All the three Premier League clubs scouted the teenager in action for Dortmund.
It will be interesting to see if Chelsea are able to sign Moukoko in January or whether there will be any twist.
